Witness for Peace Southeast (WFPSE) is a politically independent grassroots organization whose mission is to support peace, justice and sustainable economies in the Americas by changing U.S. policies and corporate practices that contribute to poverty and oppression in Latin America and the Caribbean.
What We Do
WFPSE works to raise awareness and encourage community involvement in support of human rights through various events and activities. WFPSE regularly sends human rights delegations to impacted areas in Latin America to witness first-hand the conditions and issues affecting those communities. Delegates receive training on how to use their first-hand knowledge to support impacted communities upon returning to the U.S. We host an annual Pilgrimage for peace and justice that takes place every spring across North Carolina with the aim of raising awareness and encouraging action among the public concerning our core issues. Each fall, WFPSE hosts a Latin American activist guest speaker to educate our US-based audience on issues in their home country and how US policy affects them.
