Who We Are
USCRI was founded in 1911. Our mission is to protect the rights and address the needs of persons in forced or voluntary migration worldwide and support their transition to a dignified life. We act to defend human rights, promote self-sufficiency and education, and forge community partnerships through a full range of services and programs.
What We Do
The programs we offer are wide ranging and provide our new community members with access to direct services.
Our Post Release Services (PRS) case managers connect children to linguistically and financially appropriate services including medical care, mental health services, educational opportunities, legal representation and community resources.
Reception and Placement Services (R&P) assist refugees and immigrants within the first 90 days of their arrival in the U.S. We provide these clients with essential services and support they need to begin rebuilding their lives including securing affordable housing and food upon arrival, school enrollment, accessing healthcare services, securing employment and much more.
Our Match Grant Program (MG) helps clients to obtain employment without accessing public cash assistance. It offers ongoing job counseling to help clients increase their skills and earning power.
USCRI NC's Immigration Legal Services Program offers low-cost, professional legal representation to low-income refugees and immigrants and their families with family- and humanitarian-based immigration matters.
