Who We Are
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing
What We Do
Provide year round sports competition for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
Sports include:
Fall Sports: Soccer, Golf , Rollerskating, Tennis
Winter : Cheerleading, Basketball
Spring: Cheerleading, Flag Football, Track and Field, Softball, Swimming, Powerlifting
Year round: Equestrian riding
3 tournaments a year locally here in Durham.
Volunteers needed for coaching, transportation of athletes throughout the season, fundraising, sport events.
