Who We Are

The Fresh Produce Program (FPP) is a student-driven initiative out of Duke University that brings together undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and community members to support our local food ecosystem and strengthen food and nutrition security in Durham.

What We Do

In response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on food security in the Triangle, the Fresh Produce Program developed a door-to-door food delivery service that provides free, biweekly deliveries of fresh and locally-sourced produce to community members experiencing food insecurity and diet-related chronic illness. We partner with local non-profits to provide our participants with fresh produce, shelf-stable goods, and other items.

The Fresh Produce Program honors the connections between nutritious food, individual health, and the health of our community. With no paid staff, our team depends heavily on our wonderful volunteers as we strive to earn and maintain trust through dependable, quality services and continue to grow!
